Four Benson City Council members—Vice Mayor Levi Johnson, Patrick Boyle, Darren Hayes, and Nick Maldonado, face a recall election scheduled for May 19, 2026. The recall is driven by community opposition to a proposed aluminum recycling facility and concerns over the council’s lack of transparency, handling of zoning, environmental impacts, and water usage.
