I’m Mark Boyle, a husband, father, grandfather, and now a great grandfather, and longtime resident deeply committed to my family and our Benson community. Like many of you, I value self-reliance, preparedness, and making decisions based on facts, not agendas or outside pressure.

My passion for science and critical thinking led me to dig deeply into the proposed Aluminum Dynamics Inc. recycling facility. I’ve studied the research on aluminum ultrafine particles (UFPs), those tiny emissions, (not regulated by ADEQ, or the EPA), under 0.1 microns that can reach deep into the lungs, trigger inflammation, affect the heart and brain, and pose serious long-term health risks.

Combined with the plant’s massive projected water use in our drought-stressed area, I became convinced we need far better answers on air quality, aquifer protection, the San Pedro River, and how this project truly impacts families like mine and yours.

Frustrated by what I see as a lack of real transparency, limited public input, and questionable oversight from current city leadership, I decided to step up. That’s why I’m running for Benson City Council in the May 19, 2026 special recall election—alongside Darick Finn and Ross Kaplowitch, to challenge Vice Mayor Levi Johnson and bring fresh, resident-focused leadership.

On the council, I’ll fight for open government, rigorous scrutiny of big projects, evidence-based decisions, and policies that put Benson families, health, and long-term sustainability first, not short-term gains for others. I believe in listening to people, asking hard questions, and protecting what makes our community special. Together, we can make Benson a place where families thrive safely and confidently for generations to come. I’m honored to earn your trust and your vote
